HOW OUR PROJECT RELATES TO THE WIDER WORLD

Our aim for this project is to help reduce the amount of plastic and litter in our oceans.

To do this, our group has impacted our how our school deals with litter - through informative assemblies, and introducing rewards to whichever school house has the heaviest weighting bin.

Our school has 4 houses (Iona, Jarrow, Whitby and Lidisfarne) and with matching colors of Blue, Red, Green and yellow we've planted those colour bins to go accordingly with the correct houses. We weigh each bin to see which is the heaviest, and that house gets the amount of points their bin weighs. At the end of each school term, the house with the most points gets rewards!

We did this to stop the amount of litter that has been left around the school grounds previously, and so far our ideas have worked amazingly!
